With this failure database, an engineer is able to record and monitor the cause and remedy for all well failures. The engineer is now in a position to observe well failure trends and become much more proactive in preventative remedies to avoid the failures. By preventing failures entirely or at the very least by eliminating the catastrophic expensive well failures, he can save his company significant amounts of money in repairs and delayed production.
